Excerpts from her Story

Situation

A few months back, due to the COVID-19 Outbreak, the whole world had to, put a halt to all its consumption and manufacturing activities. The strict lockdowns had caused many companies to shut down, many others to face significant losses.

The global economy is, at this very moment, hanging on the last few knots of touching the extremities of recession. All the industries are facing severe losses.

Education Industry is not an exception as well. Though, every situation has got its share of drawbacks and opportunities. And Aakanksha and her team constantly try to look at the optimistic changes.

Problem

Their client, a prominent Management Institute of Lucknow, used to employ traditional methods of advertising. Though traditional promotions (for example, Hoardings and Print Advertisements) have got their classic charm of targeting a particular, and yes, geographically bound audience, the dynamism of Digital Media Marketing, is nonetheless setting its bar quite high.

Solution

Aakanksha and her team, therefore, embarked on a journey of promoting their client on various social media platforms. From targeted keyword research and stuffing to content sharing, from utilizing the trend of using popular hashtags to posting engaging visuals. They ensured to promote their client to its target audience: students, parents, and shareholders, quite well. The team also worked to furnish them with an online presence, flexibility with the avenues to connect and impart knowledge via digital platforms.

In times of COVID-19 lockdowns, there could have been a significant fall in the number of admissions of Aakanksha’s client. And their digital presence helped them to enhance their acquisition. Regular postings of online viva clips and lectures helped students to know about the seriousness of the institute towards studies. Engaging content sharing on social media platforms ascertained students that the institute focuses on co-curricular and intriguing activities as well. All in all, digital presence ensured a better engagement with all the stakeholders to enhance brand value, engagement, and supported the survival.

Outcome

Individual and corporate entities have now undeniably realized that 'Going Digital' is the only way to survive in these unchartered waters of the COVID-19 crisis. Through digital media, one can promote and sell his/ her services on various digital platforms, including official websites of companies, social media pages, or e-commerce websites.

Going digital means appropriate solutions as per the client's needs. This means better website structure, aesthetic appeal, and visuals, search engine optimization, the content of websites, etc. Social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram have can also be leveraged for maximum engagement with the target audience.

The change was not solely evident for the base branch for whom the team had been working directly, but, also for all the other branches of management institute across North India.

Key Takeaway

Social media platforms, digital channels including emails, official websites are the various means, through which businesses can connect to their current and prospective customers. Businesses/ organizations must understand the requirements of their clients, the 'Why's', and the 'What's' to define how these mediums/channels can further be strengthened and enhanced for proper engagement with the target audience. This process does not solely include the flow of content and design, but, also the efficacy to utilize suitable keywords and hashtags, at the right site and spot.

When no one has extra time, and everyone has a lot of choices, the digital media can support businesses to go a long way through a thorough understanding of the needs of the customers, stakeholders for an optimal and effective online engagement. And , is definitely a way in times of crisis like COVID-19 as well.
